Healthy Youth Development

Youth Solutions & NWFS

NWFS has received a number of federal grants in support of its abstinence programs since 1989. In the early 1990’s Northwest Family Services developed its Youth Solutions curricula, a compilation of lessons and activities that multiple evaluations have shown to be successful. As part of its Title V abstinence funding the state of Oregon has awarded NWFS contracts in support of its Youth Solutions abstinence program. These funds have helped us reached over 100,000 people with programs. The funding has also enabled us to continuously improve the services so we can offer youth and families the most effective programs.

The Youth Solutions program is funded in part by the Community Based Abstinence Education Program, Administration for Children and Family, Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of Adolescence Pregnancy Programs, Department of Health and Human Services and through the Oregon Department of Human Services.
